Review

This was a slightly flat read for me, although it did start off on a pretty intriguing foot! The first person that Eddie, the protagonist, meets in heaven held the most value in my perspective, but the rest of the lessons seemed too preachy and unrelatable to my personal life. Maybe I'm not thinking big picture enough, but I feel like Eddie's life was a little uncommon and thus harder to find parallels with my own existential musings (but on another note, I'm also just a 21 year old girl with far less life experiences than an 83 year old man).

Quotes

"People often belittle the place where they were born. But heaven can be found in the most unlikely corners."

“It is because the human spirit knows, deep down, that all lives intersect. That death doesn't just take someone, it misses someone else, and in the small distance between being taken and being missed, lives are changed."

“Strangers...are just family you have yet to come to know."

“'No life is a waste,' the Blue Man said. 'The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.'"
